The East Fife Members Centre
National Trust for Scotland

Joining  Us

Members of the NTS, or the National Trust in England, Wales or Ireland can join for a fee of £6.00 per person, which covers printing, packaging and posting of information and newsletters. An application form is available on the  DOCUMENTS  page, and cheques, or standing order details, should be sent to the Membership Secretary ( address details on the form.)

New members are always welcome to join the Centre, and are encouraged to participate in the committee, and the activities, as well as to volunteer at one or other of the local properties. These are

(Please note that the keys to the Scotstarvit Tower can be obtained from Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse during the house opening times)

Volunteers are likewise always welcomed, and needed, at the properties, as without them many significant jobs would not be undertaken. East Fife Members often volunteer at properties, as guides, helpers in shops, tearooms or gardens, or at special events such as Garden Sales or Christmas Fayres.

There is also a Conservation Group, concerned with restoring old fabric artefacts, or creating new pieces which are in keeping with the original design and execution of the item, under the guidance of a qualified Conservator. Work has been carried out on two tapestries at Falkland Palace and embroidered items for Kellie Castle. New work has included covers for display cabinets at Alloa Tower and curtains and bed-hangings for Hugh Sharpe’s bedroom at Hill of Tarvit. Several rugs from Kellie Castle have been stabilised and there is occasional repair work on items from the holiday flats on the estate. Curtains from Kellie Castle were washed and hung to dry in the old laundry at Hill of Tarvit. Work is just starting on bed hangings for one of the beds at Culzean Castle.
